Signal taxonomy

What we detect, and what it takes.

A signal is a change in an official public record, found by comparing each new snapshot with the one before it. Here is every event type we track, what triggers it, and the source fields it needs.

Derived where the source supports it

An event type is active in a state only when that state's source publishes the fields it needs. Otherwise it shows as “Not available from this source,” never as zero.

No signals from the first snapshot

The first ingestion of a source sets the baseline. Records already present are not reported as new, unless the source publishes an issue date inside the lookback window.

Facts first, interpretation labeled

Each signal stores the old and new values from the record. Anything we add about why it may matter is marked as HomeCareIntent interpretation.
